10 Gym Bag Essentials for Gym Goer

Posted on April 23, 2019 by Christian Taylor

Be it your first day at the gym or just your regular day at gym. It doesn’t matter if you train in a well-equipped gym like the gyms in Bondi beach with excellent hygiene and facilities or to a local gym, there are a few gym essentials that you must have in your gym bag – the essentials will come handy during and post workout session.

Here are ten must-have accessories you can’t afford to be without for your workout session.

Reusable Water Bottle

If you don’t want to wait in line for a water fountain or not comfortable drinking tap water, then a BPA free drink bottle is an essential item you should have in your gym bag. With this investment, you will able to keep yourself hydrated pre, during and post workout session.

Headphones

Pretty obvious, music drives you to push for more, and especially if you have your favourite tunes that kick you high, you’re up for a good workout session. But the boring repetitive music in the background can at the same time kill your zeal. Get yourself a good Bluetooth headphone and get those reps counting.

Towel

Most of the gym have complimentary hand towels, but hey, lot of people dries their sweat with the same towel – hence, it’s always hygienic to carry your own. Get a microfiber towel which doesn’t take up much space in your bag, and it dries fast.

Dry Shampoo

No shower at your local gym or no time to have a shower? No worries! Slip in some dry shampoo in your gym bag. Few sprays and it absorbs the oil and sweat leaving your hair presentable. Simple as that!

Alternative day essentials

Not every day you do the same kind of workout, and some essentials depend on the type of work out you choose for your alternate day. If you are into swimming, you must carry swimming goggles, swim cap, and if you are doing yoga, you should have a yoga mat and block.

Padlock

Better safe than sorry. Gyms do have lockers, but you might have heard some stolen stories from the lockers. To keep your money, gadgets and high-tech clothing safe from thieves, buy a heavy-duty lock.

Face and Body Wipes

Give your face a good wipe before and after a workout to banish pimples, oil and sweat. If you are in a hurry and have no time to shower, body wipes can come to the rescue. Get the one that suits your skin and doesn’t cause any irritation.

Hand Sanitizer

A gym, as much you love, is also a disgusting place with the sweaty equipment, wet towels, viruses and even infections. To save yourself from germs carry alcohol-free hand sanitizer and use it frequently.

Snacks

After a good gym session, your stomach might crunch, it’s better to keep some snacks like nuts, yogurt and fruits in your gym bag. These snacks can keep you recharged while you work out. Make sure you keep your bag clean before storing snacks in it. Alternatively, you can keep freshly baked French Macarons in the bag that are healthy substitutes in you backpack.

Weight Lifting Gloves

Last but not the least, and one of the most important gym accessories, if you’re into weight lifting. Nothing is more annoying than getting interrupted because of a loose grip. Imagine you’re in good form, good rhythm, and it’s your last bench press set, and heck you lose grip. That spoils the whole spirit. Having a good pair of workout gloves not only helps you hold the bar firmly but also absorbs some of the pressure on your hands and wrists.

These are the must-have gym bag essentials, with which you’re sure to enjoy your workout session. What other gym accessories do you carry? Let us know in the comment below. Happy working out people!
