Which Teams Will Earn The Top Seeds In The NCAA Basketball Championships?

BKC: Kansas v Kansas State January 30, 2010

Sherron Collins and the Kansas Jayhawks seem poised for the top seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Selection Sunday is getting closer and closer and the way things are shaping up I’m ready to make some NCAA Basketball predictions for the four teams that will be the number one seed in each region.

I’m really enjoying the way Kansas is playing right now, even though they had a few problems against Texas A&M they found a way to win and that gives me a feeling they are a championship caliber team.

Looking at their schedule I don’t see any team that can stop them until the tourney starts.  They do go up against Kansas State, but that game is at home and I don’t think they will lose.  That’s why I have Kansas as the top team in the Big 12 and in the country in general.

Kansas will lead the Midwest bracket.

I am a nut when it comes to sports and I look at every angle, and having said that I don’t trust Kentucky as much as other people.

Will freshman John Wall and Kentucky have what it takes come NCAA Tournament time?

Will freshman John Wall and Kentucky have what it takes come NCAA Tournament time?

I’m not as “in love” like the rest of the nation with Kentucky PG John Wall and I truly believe that Wall and his teammates are too young and that they may not have the maturity to deal with adversity or the pressure that comes in March.

However I do expect Kentucky to win their conference and to stay as the number two team in the nation.  I’m thinking they might be number one in the South Bracket.

The other two teams I hope will lead the West and the East brackets are from the Big East.  I have Syracuse as one of my picks to be the #1 team in the West and Villanova to be #1 in the East.

However I think Syracuse is a much better team than Nova.  Bobby Knight explained on ESPN how Syracuse’s defense is so quick and intelligent, and as far as I know that makes them a contender without a doubt.

So those are my #1 Seed picks for March Madness:

Kansas, Kentucky, Syracuse and Villanova

      December 12, 2024 | 4:24 pm

The Sports Then and Now Vintage Athlete of the Month is one of the most underappreciated wide receivers in NFL history, despite boasting a career that spanned 16 seasons and saw him excel as one of the league’s premier deep threats. Known for his speed, route-running, and ability to make plays downfield, Harold Jackson left an indelible mark on the game during an era that was not yet pass-heavy. Standing at 5’10” and weighing 175 pounds, he defied expectations of size to become a dominant force on the field. Over the course of his illustrious career (1968–1983), Jackson totaled 10,372 receiving yards and 76 touchdowns, placing him among the top receivers of his time.
