If you’re seeking world-class golf combined with sun, sea and stunning scenery, a European golf holiday is for you. From PGA and award-winning golf courses to five-star luxury golf resorts, it’s no wonder a visit to continental Europe is on the bucket list of most discerning golfers.

There is truly something for everyone when you choose Europe for a golfing holiday. Experience playing against the spectacular panoramic sea views of the Spanish coast, the dramatic backdrop of the French Alps or the picturesque lakes of Italy.

Still stuck as to where to go? The experts at Golf Travel Centre have chosen their top Europe golf destinations and are on hand for any further information.

The Algarve

Portugal offers year-round golf with epic views from the challenging courses and plenty to see and do when you’re not teeing off. But, with over half of the country’s courses located here, the Algarve is the number one destination for those looking to experience golf in Portugal.

The cities of Albufeira and Portimao often attract the highest numbers of holidaymakers thanks to the perfect combination of sandy beaches and rugged coastlines. Sao Rafael Suites is considered one of the best golf resorts in Europe and is just a short walk from the beach. But, if tranquility is what you’re after, Morgado Golf & Country Club offers just that and guests have access to two, 18-hole golf courses.

France

Golf in France is nothing short of exquisite. The country is adorned with manicured golf courses and sensational resorts, making it a firm favourite for golfers across the world. A mix of natural beauty, history and culture, it’s the perfect destination for the whole family.

The world renowned resort town of Le Touquet is not to be missed especially since there are four phenomenal courses in close reach. Or, follow in the footsteps of the pros and play at the 2018 Ryder Cup Venue, Le Golf National. We recommend staying at the Novotel Saint Quentin which overlooks the prestigious course.

Costa del Sol

This beautiful region in Spain is a popular destination for golfers due to the magnificent array of courses on offer. Boasting beautifully warm temperatures all year round as well as delicious delicacies and a rich culture, the Costa del Sol is suitable for all golfing abilities and budgets.

Marbella’s buzzing nightlife is sure to make your trip a memorable one so we suggest staying at Sol Marbella Estepona Atalaya Park. Set within extensive gardens, this resort overs multiple swimming pools, watersports and two, 18-hole golf courses. If you’re looking for some R&R, The Westin La Quinta Golf Resort & Spa offers just that. Each room has a private terrace with views of either the gardens, 27-hole golf course or Sierra Blanca Mountains – certainly not to be missed!

The Sports Then and Now Vintage Athlete of the Month is one of the most underappreciated wide receivers in NFL history, despite boasting a career that spanned 16 seasons and saw him excel as one of the league’s premier deep threats. Known for his speed, route-running, and ability to make plays downfield, Harold Jackson left an indelible mark on the game during an era that was not yet pass-heavy. Standing at 5’10” and weighing 175 pounds, he defied expectations of size to become a dominant force on the field. Over the course of his illustrious career (1968–1983), Jackson totaled 10,372 receiving yards and 76 touchdowns, placing him among the top receivers of his time.
