Royal Ascot Highlights

Day 1

Day one of Royal Ascot kicks off with the Group 1 Queen Anne Stakes where the best one-mile horses aged 4 or over in the world come to together to clash over the straight mile of Ascot. It is an exciting race from the perspective that it gives fans a first glimpse of the highly regarded fillies from the leading stables.

Day 3

Day three kicks off with the 2-year-olds over 5 furlongs. This gives you the first chance to witness some of the winter hype sprinters in the flesh. This has become a very hard race to get a handle of each year because some of the fancied horses are priced up in the betting on current form but there could be an unraced 2-year old that could surpass their form and win at a big price in the betting.

Day 4

We kick off the day four with the Albany Stakes over 6 furlongs. First introduced to Royal Ascot in 2002, the Albany Stakes is a race for two-year-old fillies and provides useful pointers to some of the leading two-year-old fillies for the remainder of the season and into the following season. The final day of Royal Ascot kicks off with the 7 furlong listed Chesham Stakes. The Chesham Stakes is open to horses aged two years, but whose sires have won over a distance of 1 mile 2 furlongs in their own racing careers. A trainer I would follow in this race would be Aiden O Brian as he has won it two out of the last 3 years and his crop of three-year-olds seem to be getting better and better as the season goes on.
