Benefits of Owning a Swim Spa

Posted on August 25, 2020 by John Harris

In today’s market, swim spas are becoming increasingly popular. As is the case with any purchase, if you are considering buying a spa swimming pool, you always need to determine whether the advantages outweigh the cost. Most people agree that this is most definitely the case with swim spas. Read on to find out the many benefits associated with going down this route.

Of course, the main reason why people invest in swim spas is that they enable them to have the opportunity to swim every day whenever they like without actually needing a full swimming pool. Swim spas are compact in their design, and so you don’t need a ton of space to enjoy your favourite exercise.

Most swim spas are also a combination of a swim spa and a hot tub. This means that you get to enjoy a lovely jet massage after you have done your exercises. This is great for recovery and, of course, who doesn’t love relaxing in a warm, bubbly hot tub? Some people use this as an important part of their recovery, incorporating other methods too, like the use of CBD gummies. Essentially, you are getting two products for the price of one, and you are still saving a huge degree of money when contrasted with the average price of a swimming pool.

A lot of people mistakenly believe that swim spas are hard to look after. But, this could not be further from the truth; all you need to do on a regular basis is give it a quick clean and check the pH levels.

Exercising In Your Swim Spa

A swim spa is an investment well worth making. Needless to say, the hot tub part is ideal for relaxing and recovering after your workout. But, what about the swim spa? What exercises can you do? Well the obvious choice is, of course, swimming, but variety is important to make sure you don’t get bored of your workout. Read on for some great suggestions.

Instead of swimming, another option is to do running and walking exercises. Simply running in the pool with the current going against you is a great workout. However, to boost your workout, why not use foam buoyancy belts? These are ideal because they help to ensure you are maintaining the correct posture while also supporting the lower back and toning abdominal muscles. You may even want to add ankle weights to the mix to increase resistance for a better performance. These will help you to achieve toned calves and thighs.

There is also an array of different strength exercises you can do in the pool. One creative suggestion is to attach resistance bands to rowing bars so that you can perform the rowing action with your arms; strengthen your hands and toning your arms – an area that is notoriously difficult for losing weight. Kickboards are also great for resistance training or why not invest in some water weights? Finally, aqua gloves are good if you want to add intensity to your upper body movements; not only do they enhance the workout but they will regularize arm movements inside the water for better control and grip over physical movements.
