Rajasthan Royals is a franchise of the Indian Premier League. It is based in Jaipur and is one amongst the authentic 8 franchises of IPL when it started back in the year 2008. At the present, Manoj Badale alongside eight other investors is the owner of the team. The home ground of this team is the stadium known as Sawai Mansingh Stadium located in Jaipur. The team of Rajasthan Royals is immensely popular in the IPL. 

In the year 2010, the contract of the franchise owned by the team was terminated by the BCCI but the decision was again reverted when they reached a consensus. The franchise of the Pink City was the winner of the welcoming edition of the IPL under the leadership of Shane Warne who is an Australian legend and also a mentor of the team. In 2010, the franchise contract was governed by the team and then it got suspended by BCCI but the final decision was again changed after marking a consensus. Although, in the year 2016, the team got its name caught in a scandal which was about match-fixing. Then, a ban for two years was recommended by the Lodha committee and was then followed by the BCCI. In 2018, the team made a comeback to the tournament. They also opted for playoffs of the 2018 season of IPL but somehow they didn’t succeed in making it to the finals.
